Additional Activities for First Grade
The first grade class will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities with the help from people from our school and our community. The activities include:
Big Brother & Big Sister program 7th graders team up with the first grade to participate in activities together
Field Trips in the community we go to different locations in town to learn about business or other important jobs people work at on a daily basis.
Planning Mass in the chapel or church Kindergarten, first and second graders plan mass in the chapel.
100th day of school: first graders plan a day of activities to highlight the 100th day of school.
Catholic School’s Week is celebrated through the whole school.
Earth Day celebration we relate information about keeping our world clean.
Classroom parties the class celebrates three holidays: Halloween (Fall celebration), Christmas and Valentines day.
Special assemblies in the gym several times we go to the gym for special events.
Computer Lab activities we use the computer lab first grade focuses on keyboarding skills.
Library the first grade class goes to the library once a week to listen to a story red by our librarian. Then they check out a book
